Historical experiments draw on inspirations from the cave paintings, illuminated manuscripts to the Gothic art of the 14/15th centuries. The question I ask when I look at art from these sources is ‘what were they thinking?’ In this respect, these experiments explore visual perception as real cognitive phenomena, with a bit of time travel.
